I would love to discuss the possibilities and my interest in this project as a “resident” of the city of Holyoke invested in workforce development in this city and in building a sustainable community that is inclusive of our natural resources which includes the inner-city population represented by young single mothers and their children. In the energy section, the announcement that the installation of solar panels atop a landfill in Springfield will proceed, creating a very large solar array.

in the transportation section, the announcement of the awarding of $30 million to the state of Connecticut toward a much larger total that would be needed to bring high speed rail traffic to the New Haven – Springfield corridor. In combination with existing grants for improvements to the rail corridor north from Springfield, these two elements may combine to provide improved rail access to residents of Connecticut into the Holyoke area.
